Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: Gift and all the staff were lovely, respectful, kind, and knowledgeable about the island and ferry service. I appreciated the help unloading and loading with my dog on a leash. The bed was acceptable. The robe and slippers were appreciated. The two extra pillows helped with sleeping comfortably.

Negative: PET POLICY: 500 baht PER NIGHT pet fee was ridiculous when you factor in there's no pet bed, pads, or bowls in a "pet friendly" room. Also, no fenced in dog park to protect you and your dog from the half dozen soi dogs who immediately surrounded us every single time I had to take the little one outside. AND apparently the grounds are covered in stickers since every return to the room I removed at least six from her SHORT fur. I don't like being growled at by dogs at a "resort". THE GROUNDS: The entire grounds looked neglected and brown, no sprinkler system, no paved parking. The large pool was empty. Both hot tubs were empty. There was something in the bottom of the smaller pool below my room... not sure if it was filthy or the surface was peeling. Byt since I didn't book the two story condo there was no direct access to the pool. THE ROOM: At first glance it appeared clean, but I quickly realized there were dozens of dead bugs plastered to the glass doors, other people's smudged fingerprints all over the sliding glass door from two feet to six feet tall so I am 100% sure they were not cleaned in a long time, and there were streak marks on everything stainless steel. There were purple stains on my sheets I know I didn't leave because I didn't bring a single blue or purple item with me. I specifically chose the "resort" because it had a bathtub and allowed pets. I fantasized about two hot soaks a day and one before I checked out. But their definition of hot water is at best, luke warm. I tried to supplement by boiling 5 kettles of hot water to get it to a reasonable temperature. But I could have done the exact same thing at my modest Thai style house and saved time and money. Also, the pictures are deceptive because they covered the glass enclosure with a film for privacy so no relaxing hot soak with a view of the ocean. That was a let down. Also NO TV.

Summary: "RESORT" is an overstatement. I left earlier than planned.
