Chosa Manglar Suites and Cabins is a large, contemporary tropical home and garden converted into two private suites, a 2-bedroom apartment, two cabins, and two private rooms huddled into the rear corner of a beautiful four-acre property bordering the mangrove, pastureland, creek, and forest. The property is connected by trails, raised walkways, and bridges leading to outdoor sitting areas, ponds, and open-air lounges surrounded by abundant gardens.
We strive diligently to maintain a healthy level of cleanliness and comfort in this wild, unique spot between the primeval Osa forest of Corcovado and the abundant tropical waters of the Golfo Dulce and the Pacific Ocean. The property is an internationally recognized urban birding hotspot (https://ebird.org/hotspot/L12100175), with 88 species recorded to date. Common wildlife sightings on the property include all four species of monkeys, kinkajous, raccoons, coatis, armadillos, anteaters, sloths, raptors, toucans, scarlet macaws, crocodiles, caimans, lizards, snakes, beetles, hummingbirds, butterflies, dragonflies, damselflies, herons, iguanas, and various other birds, insects, reptiles, and amphibians.
When you need a break from the gardens, wildlife, and tranquility, take a stroll and enjoy colorful surroundings and tropical delights such as the water garden and the adjacent butterfly and dragonfly gardens. Mama Jackie's Garden, located in front of the main building, has been designed with plenty of physical space. It offers easy walking paths interspersed with several water features. A centrally located firepit is used to share tropical tales, often with a cold refreshment in hand. Challenge yourself to a "Rock Stacking" game beside the firepit. Try different local dishes by requesting food from our neighbors; their menus can be found at the bar or alternatively, walk to more than fifteen eating establishments in town. Many will deliver for a small fee if you decide to stay onsite. You can walk or bicycle everywhere in town, so a car is not necessary.
