Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: Lorna the hostess for the self catering was very friendly and pleasant. Large rooms , clean but very basic in all rooms . Instant gas hot water in the kitchen and showers , parking for two cars , good size fridge and freezer , 10 min walk to the centre of town .

Negative: The cottage is ACTUALLY No " 4 B" - not No 4, and there appears to have been a misunderstanding due to the website quoting the wrong number for quite a while .. We were not given a local number to contact the hostess Lorna until the neighbour kindly helped us out - on the web site there is only a USA tel no, which does not help re the communications once in or near Prins Albert or after finalising your booking . The unit itself is spacious but very sparsely furnished. Basic amenities provided and clean linen and towels. We did not get to use the cottages wifi , as there is no information sheet provided and due to misunderstandings on telephone numbers the codes were not received, so we utilised our own portable wifi. There is no TV but that was fine for us as we were all out both evenings. The garden is nicely enclosed for your furry friend that is allowed by arrangement and for a small fee. A small comment here - there is a definite doggy bathroom smell from the garden on hot Prins Albert days. Not sure what can assist with this but appreciated our friends could bring their well behaved dog with them. There are no ceiling fans but two freestanding units, one for each bedroom and you need them as it does get warm, and several windows in each room that can open. Perhaps this is a new unit for rental as with a little more thought it could be a really super rental but served our needs for a quick 2 night stay. Thank you Lorna.
